Academic Enrichment

Academic Enrichment

Academic Enrichment programs enhance and add dimension to the academic culture at the College. Enrichment programs present students with opportunities to challenge themselves at home and abroad, and through creative, interdisciplinary research, both independent and faculty mentored.

Academic enrichment at the Mount takes on many shapes from day to day. You'll see it in the Honors students, navigating the Hudson River marshes in kayaks, or creating a video for an independent study project. It's in the Literary Society and its creative publication, and the Math Club students, who deliver educational and fun mathematics games to elementary school classrooms.

You'll see it in our 16 honor societies that recognize and celebrate academic achievement  for undergraduate and graduate students.

Research thrives at the Mount in our Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program, where students team with faculty members to complete in-depth (and paid) research projects. Our students routinely present data and research findings at  professional conferences.

Academic enrichment activities expand on students' learning, providing dimension and depth to classwork and class time. They enhance the college experience in both innovative and traditional ways, and allow our students to apply their knowledge and skill base to experience.
